Adam Ferrara Is Ready To Make Mesquite, Nevada Laugh Out Loud
Mark your calendars for September 19 and get ready for a fun-filled night out in Mesquite with comedian and actor Adam Ferrara.
The two-time American Comedy Award nominee and internationally touring headliner mixes his sharp stand-up with quick-thinking improv and real-life stories that will have you laughing in your seat nonstop.
“So basically, I’m a confessional comic. I take my life and put it in a blender and the best laughs I can get, the best laughs that are so satisfying to me is when I see people shaking their heads or pushing their partner when I can articulate something that’s in their life,” Ferrara told The 702 exclusively. “Because that’s what brings us both together, because we need each other now.”
How Adam Ferrara Fell Into The World Of Comedy

For Ferrara, comedy was something he always knew he wanted to do. He credits his family for his start.
“I got out of college and I told my parents, ‘Well, we’ve done one of your things, now I’m gonna try one of mine,’” he explained. “I was always funny when I was a kid, I didn’t know it because I grew up in that environment. My family’s very loud, reactionary people. The atmosphere of my childhood was DEFCON 1. Everything was an emergency. It didn’t matter how insignificant it was.”
Ferrara said he found out he was really funny when he realized he could “contribute” to his family’s loudness and intense reactions over everything. He realized that his contribution was helping to make stress disappear with laughter. And once he was on stage and got big laughs, he knew this was where he belonged.
“My father gave me permission to do this. My father was in the audience the first time I was ever on stage,” Ferrara told The 702. “Here’s what happened. I made the mistake of telling my mother that I was going to an open mic night at a local comedy club. My mother was the original Twitter, she would just tell everybody all over the neighborhood. The whole neighborhood showed up and they sold out this little comedy club on a Wednesday night.”
He said he wrote his material and was ready to go, but then suddenly got nervous. It was at that moment that his cousin “shot his mouth off” so he “just made fun of him for five minutes” and “it killed.” That’s when he “got the bug” and knew this was what he was meant to do.
His father gave him some advice not long after that first show.
“If you’re gonna do this, you do it now. You give it everything you got,” he said. “Because one day, you’re gonna look in the mirror and it’s gonna be an old man looking back at you and you never want to think if I only tried a little bit harder.”
Stand Up Comedy To Acting To Podcast Host

Ferrara’s resume is a mile long and filled with many memorable roles. You’ve likely seen him hosting “Top Gears US,” in the Showtime hit, “Nurse Jackie,” or in “Paul Blart: Mall Cop,” among many other roles.
When asked if he had a role that really challenged him, he immediately talked about “Nurse Jackie” and playing opposite Edie Falco.
“I had been doing ‘Rescue Me,’ but that was very much a guy show, it was a male-dominated show so there was a lot of testosterone and a lot of yelling. It was something I was used to,” he shared. “When I started [on ‘Nurse Jackie’], I was her [Edie Falco] love interest so I had to be vulnerable, I had to apologize, and I had to go to a place that wasn’t at the tips of my fingers. I had to find it in myself. And when you’re working opposite Edie Falco, you gotta get good quick. She’s throwing fast balls and she’s great. One of the most generous actors I’ve ever worked with.”
He said that role helped him to “grow a lot” as well as taught him quite a bit.
Ferrara also has a podcast that he said began when his wife told him “he better do something” during the pandemic because he was driving her crazy. He explained that his podcast studio is in one of his three garages and it gives him an excuse to talk to the people he wants to.
Hitting The Stage At CasaBlanca On September 19
When asked what’s next for him, Ferrara said his focus at the moment is “Mesquite, Nevada, baby.”
“September 19. CasaBlanca Casino. Come and see me,” he said. “It’s gonna be a lot of fun. I will make you guys laugh and it’s a nice night out.”
