Meet Rachael Wexelberg of the hit Luxor show “FANTASY.”

Rachael has called Las Vegas home for six years, and for just as long, she’s been lighting up the stage as part of “FANTASY.” She began dancing as a toddler, inspired and coached early on by her mother. Her journey has taken her from competitive dance to professional stages in Reno, Broadway, and ultimately Las Vegas.

Known for her versatility as a swing who never performs the same show twice, she brings discipline, passion, and heart to every performance, making her an essential part of the ever-evolving “FANTASY” experience.

How The Early Days Of Rachael’s Dance Journey Began Her Career

Dance was something that began early for Rachael, and it didn’t take too long into her journey for her to know this was what she wanted to do as a career.

“I started dancing when I was 3 years old. My mom was a dancer/choreographer and my first competition coach,” she told The 702. “In my third year of competing, I realized I loved dancing and didn’t really want to do anything else.”

Rachael said that one early dance memory that sticks out for her is that her “first team was very supportive and it felt like I had a second family I could rely on to help me with all things, not just dance.”

Throughout her journey, dance has taught Rachael some valuable lessons, such as “discipline.”

“If you dedicate yourself to something and work hard for it, you can achieve your goals,” she shared.

Before Joining The Cast Of ‘FANTASY’

Before joining “FANTASY,” Rachael was part of a few other productions.

“My first professional contract was in 2019 for a casino show in Reno, NV called ‘Cirque Paris.’ Then I moved to Las Vegas, and a week after moving, I booked ‘The Illusionists: Magic of the Holidays’ at the Neil Simon Theatre on Broadway,” she said. “I returned to Las Vegas in January of 2020 and joined the cast of ‘FANTASY.’”

Rachael is a swing in every track in the show, meaning she never does the same show.

“The show is also constantly changing and evolving, which keeps things fresh and interesting,” she added.

Being Part Of ‘FANTASY’ And What It’s Like Being A Professional Showgirl

Her first show in “FANTASY” came with some nerves, “especially because the producer, Anita Mann,” was at that first show.

“I felt great afterwards because I performed well and Anita was pleased,” she told The 702.

Rachael shared that many people likely don’t realize that professional dancers in Vegas “lead double lives.”

“Most of us pursue other things like going to school or teaching dance,” she said. “I spend time as a nanny, many times for other dancers in Vegas.”

She added that the hardest part about the profession can be the hours since most shows are late in the evening.

“While we make it look effortless and glamorous, most of us have trained our whole lives to get here, and we continue to spend time training and taking care of ourselves to do what we do, at the level we do it,” she added.

Vegas Fun When Rachael Isn’t Dancing On Stage

When Rachael isn’t on the stage with the rest of the fabulous cast of “FANTASY,” she’s often spending her time with friends and family, taking care of her two French bulldogs, and enjoying Las Vegas.

“I am a social butterfly. I like to see other shows, concerts, and events,” she said. “I really enjoy the restaurants and shopping in Las Vegas. There’s so much to do here, you are never bored.”

When the topic of the future entered the chat, Rachael shared that she hopes to continue on the career path she’s on and maintain connections with other people in the industry. She hopes to “dance at the highest levels possible, for as long” as possible.

“I am fortunate to always have had the support of my family and friends on this journey,” she shared. “And it is an honor to be able to represent ‘FANTASY’ on stage.”
