Meet Shealagh Boyajian of “FANTASY.”
She’s called Las Vegas home for six years and has spent the past year and a half lighting up the stage as part of “FANTASY” at Luxor. A lifelong dancer who began training at a young age, Shealagh knew early on that dance was more than a hobby, which led her to choosing to homeschool as a teen so she could train professionally.
Her career has taken her from “Extravaganza” at the Jubilee Theatre to performing as a dancer and aerialist aboard Royal Caribbean’s “Odyssey of the Seas,” and later to “Rouge” at The STRAT. Now in “FANTASY,” she says the camaraderie backstage is just as rewarding as the performances themselves.
Shealagh’s Dance Journey Started As A Toddler

For Shealagh, dancing was always in her blood. At the age of 3, she began dancing recreationally and then by the age of 8, joined a dance studio’s competition team.
“Both my older sister and cousin already danced, so I wanted to be like them,” she told The 702 exclusively. “When I was 14, I decided to take my training more seriously and become homeschooled, which allowed me to train during the day and work at my dance studio.”
Shealagh fondly recalls that at the age of 12, she “begged” her mom to allow her to learn and perform a solo routine.
“The happiness I felt after placing in the top five at my first competition was indescribable,” she said.
From ‘Extravaganza’ To ‘FANTASY’: Shealagh’s Dance Journey Has Been Exciting

Shealagh’s dance journey has been anything but boring. In her first show, “Extravaganza” at the Jubilee Theatre, Shealagh was a featured dancer and acrobat. She also learned two acts as an aerialist.
“Next, I took a year-long contract onboard Royal Caribbean’s ‘Odyssey of the Seas,’ where I was not only a dancer but also an aerialist,” she told The 702. “I performed in two shows onboard – ‘ShowGirl: Past, Present and Future,’ which takes the audience on the journey from classic showgirls to future showgirls; and second, ‘The Effectors,’ Royal Caribbean’s own superhero show. I loved performing for all the children onboard and seeing their faces light up.”
After leaving her gig on Royal Caribbean, she immediately began rehearsing for “Rouge” at The STRAT, with the same team from “Extravaganza,” making her transition from sea to land a little bit easier.
Throughout her dance journey, Shealagh has “instilled an unbreakable confidence that goes much deeper than just performing.”
“Growing up as a super shy kid, being on stage gave me a new life and a new persona,” she said. “Eventually, that persona bled into my everyday life.”
‘FANTASY’ And Being A Showgirl Entered The Chat

For Shealagh, one of the best parts about being in “FANTASY” is the “dressing room.”
“I am so lucky that this group of ladies all get along,” she said. “It’s constant jokes and stories as we get ready for the show every night.”
When asked about her first performance in “FANTASY,” Shealagh said it was a “blur” but she remembers “being proud” that she didn’t have any “crazy mess ups.”
Shealagh said that something many people may not realize about being a professional dancer in Vegas is that the dancers are real people with normal lives.
“Something people don’t realize about performers is just because we are in full glam under stage lights every night, it doesn’t mean we aren’t real people,” she explained. “We live our everyday lives just like everyone else – before the glam, of course. I wish people understood the hard work that goes into making our shows seem effortless. Just because we make it look easy, doesn’t mean it is.”
She added that the hardest part about being a showgirl is “staying up late” because she’s a morning person and loves going to be early, although she doesn’t get to do that much.
Enjoying Sin City When Not On Stage

When she’s not dancing on the stage, she’s often found at the gym working out, training in tumbling, or editing videos for her YouTube channel.
“When I have the chance to play tourist, I like to try new restaurants and watch my friends in their shows around town,” she said. “I run my own YouTube channel where I document the behind-the-scenes of what it’s really like to be a professional dancer in Vegas and how I got to where I am now.” (Check out her videos HERE.)
As far as what the future holds, Shealagh said she has a lot more dreams to accomplish.
“I would love to perform in a Broadway show one day,” she shared. “Eventually, I want to take my stunt training more seriously and become a professional stuntwoman in movies.”
