Sneaker Con Las Vegas Drew Thousands For A Weekend Of Sole-Searching

Sneaker Con

Sneaker Con is one of many staple events for sneakerheads to buy, sell and show off some of the rarest shoes in existence. The event travels all across the country having its best turn outs in New York City and Chicago.  It recently spent a weekend in Sin City and the turnout was amazing.

Coming on its 7th year in Las Vegas, it is just getting bigger and better. It was held at the Las Vegas South Hall Convention Center, a change from last year that made enough room for the hundreds of vendors to fit, with a comfortable walking space.

The 702 was present on the first day of Sneaker Con to see what all the hype was about, and it didn’t disappoint.

Packed With Shoes And Celebrities

Sneaker Con is a beacon for every type of celebrity. In previous years, some of the most notable appearances were former NBA Champion Dennis Rodman, current president Donald Trump and a food reviewing icon Keith Lee.

Many shoe influencers love to build their following at this event. Some that were seen at Las Vegas were Ramitheicon who is known for his funny personality and interesting cash outs at Coolkicks LA, and Chase Young who is the founder of Culture Kicks. Many people watch him for his crazy coin flips and his lovable interviews.

Sneakers And Evolving Trends

Sneaker lovers around the world are blown away by the shoes they see at this event. You see everything from vintage Jordans from the 80s and 90s, to friends and family or unreleased shoes that no one has ever seen before.

Aside from mouth watering shoes present, many new trends leak into Sneaker Con. The most recent and notable one being a collectible called Labubu. Labubus originally came from a show called The Monsters, made in 2015; but has become a staple fashion trend in November/December of 2024.

Walking around you can see Labubus of many kinds mixed in with shoes like a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Both coexist with the hype beast fashion trends of today. You couldn’t miss them, everyone wanted to get their hands on one or more.

Firsthand Experience And Opinion Of This Year’s Sneaker Con

I have personally attended the past two Sneaker Cons in Las Vegas and I can tell you they don’t disappoint. I saw with my own eyes how it is evolving just from last year where it was in a smaller location with less vendors to this year with hundreds of more vendors and thousands of more visitors showing up to enjoy the event. I love how just in one year it made a notable difference in attendance. I am excited to see years to come.

This year Sneaker Con was sponsored by the energy drink Monster. As a promo, they were handing out free cans as supplies lasted to excite people to get there early. Each event, they also do many giveaways which can be anything from merch to shoes. It is all free entries to give visitors who might not have the ability to buy their favorite shoes a chance to still walk away with something cool.

I truly recommend to anyone that knowns sneakers to try to make it to one of these events. It is overall a great experience and I can’t wait until they are back out here next year.
